Minot State to host International Peace Garden Conference

Students from Minot State University and Brandon University are scheduled to gather for the 73rd annual Peace Garden Conference at MSU on Friday, Oct. 24.

The conference serves as an opportunity for students on both sides of the American and Canadian border to present papers and engage in discourse on international affairs. This year’s theme is “civil discourse in contentious times.”

The student paper presentations will be held from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and will be open to those registered for POLS or attending for a class. After lunch, the conference will resume with a presentation by Dr. Jack Russel Weinstein, a professor of philosophy at the University of North Dakota. Weinstein will speak from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Hartnett Hall Collaboration Space, and is open to the public.

A “coffee hour” with Weinstein will follow for MSU students only.

Starting at $2.99/week.
