Minot man dies in motorcycle-SUV crash

A 42-year-old Minot man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding and a SUV driven by a Minot juvenile collided at a southwest Minot intersection Wednesday, Oct. 15.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 6:24 p.m., a 2024 Suzuki motorcycle driven by the Minot man was westbound on 37th Avenue Southwest, driving at a high rate of speed. A 2015 Dodge Durango SUV, driven by the juvenile, was stopped at a stop sign on 10th Street Southwest and then entered the intersection to go east on 37th Avenue Southwest. The motorcycle struck the SUV on the driver’s side. Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection.

Both drivers were taken to a Minot hospital.The driver of the motorcycle died of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the SUV sustained serious injury.

The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet and the SUV driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s assistance regarding the crash. Anyone who was an eyewitness to the crash or has dashcam/video footage is encouraged to contact the Highway Patrol at 328-2447.
