Mental health practitioner joins Rolette clinic

ROLETTE – Jazlyn Bates, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, has joined Northland Health Centers’ Rolette clinic.

Bates is the first behavioral health provider to serve the community and region since Northland Health Centers established services in the community in 2003.

A North Dakota native, Bates grew up on a farm north of Rugby. She began her nursing journey at Lake Region State College, earning her licensed practical nurse credential in 2019. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in nursing at North Dakota State University in 2021 and earned her Master of Science in nursing-mental health nurse practitioner from Mount Marty University in 2025. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

With six years of nursing experience across behavioral health, cardiology and family practice, Bates is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and empowering patients through personalized care, according to Northland Health Centers information.

Outside of her professional life, Bates enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, camping, crafting, baking and diving into podcasts and audiobooks.
