CAP Cadets rally to raise support for veteran wreaths
The Cadets of the Magic City Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron are calling on the Minot community to help honor local heroes this holiday season through the Wreaths Across America initiative. Their mission is to ensure that a live Balsam wreath is placed on every veteran’s grave at Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery.
The youth-led campaign is a powerful act of remembrance and community service, according to the Magic City Civil Air Patrol. By sponsoring wreaths, businesses and individuals not only honor veterans but also invest in the development of Minot’s next generation of leaders.
“This effort is deeply personal,” said Cadet Jean DeHaan. “Growing up in a family that deeply values our country, I understand the sacrifices veterans made to protect our freedom. Placing wreaths is more than a gesture. It’s a way to show our appreciation and remember why we have the freedoms we enjoy today.”
Each wreath is $17, with nearly 30% of every donation directly supporting the Cadets’ annual programming. These funds enable vital activities such as search and rescue training, leadership development, rocketry education, physical fitness and educational field trips.
To donate, visit WreathsAcrossAmerica.org/ND0006p to sponsor wreaths for Rosehill Cemetery or any WAA location worldwide. Wreath sponsorship options include personalized e-cards, mailed cards, paired wreaths and dedications in honor or memory of loved ones. The donation deadline is Nov. 28.
Checks also can be made payable to Magic City Civil Air Patrol Comp. Sq. and mailed to 2400 N. Broadway, Suite 6 Minot, ND 58703.
