Alzheimer’s Association offers webinar education
BISMARCK – The Alzheimer’s Association will offer free virtual webinar presentations in October.
“The Empowered Caregiver: Communicating Effectively” will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 2-3 p.m. This class is designed to increase caregiver confidence while reducing stress. Participants will learn helpful ways to approach the responsibilities of caring for someone living with dementia using a person-centered approach. The course teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.
The Alzheimer’s Association, together with North Dakota State University Extension, is offering a webinar series titled Nourish on eight consecutive Thursdays at noon. The series started Sept. 25.
The Nourish program provides adults with information and strategies about nutrition free of charge. Participants will learn how to eat more nutritiously and be more physically active to promote health and well-being.
All webinars are free and open to the public. Contact the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-Dakota Chapter to register. The project is funded through the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, Adult and Aging Services Section.
