Clinton T. Hobart, works on an art piece during the Williston BakkenCon fest Saturday, Sept. 6. Hobart is a fine arts artist and licensed Disney Fine Artist. In addition to painting for Disney, Hobart paints still-lifes, portraits and ocean waves. Even his Disney paintings are considered still-lifes, because he works from real subjects in front of him. Sometimes Hobart builds a set to use as the subject, such as the tower from the Disney movie Tangled, building a 4-foot replica from stone, mortar, cardboard, plaster and wood. The tower itself is now as popular as the actual painting. Photos by Roger Riveland
