Historical Society receives federal funds
The Ward County Historical Society was named a recipient of $25,000 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, according to U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-ND.
The money will be used to inventory, organize and digitize its collection of more than 2,000 objects, photographs and North Dakota books. This “Inspire! Grants for Small Museums” funding will allow the historical society to produce an easily accessible archive as the museum grows.
The Cass County Historical Society also received $86,208 from a Museums for America grant to hire additional staff to inventory, assess and catalog nearly 30,000 artifacts over three years.
