Four to be inducted in ND Firefighter’s Museum Hall of Fame

GARRISON – Four individuals will be recognized for their fire service contributions and leadership with induction into the North Dakota Firefighters Hall of Fame on Oct. 11, the North Dakota Firefighter’s Museum announced.

The 2025 inductees are:

– Anton Frank, aka Tony Putschler of Dickinson was an active firefighter from 1928-1969 with Gladstone and Dickinson fire departments. He served as fire chief, past president and trustee of the North Dakota Firefighter’s Association, past president of Missouri Valley Association of Fire Chiefs and past vice president of International Fire Service Training Association.

– Byron Fiedler of Mercer has been an active firefighter since 1978 with the Mercer department. His roles include training officer, secretary and fire crew team lead.

– Donald “Don” Heiser of Billings County served as an active firefighter from 1985-2016 with Billings County Rural Fire Protection District. He has served as fire chief, deputy chief and Fire Board director.

– Marlo Byberg of New Rockford served as an active firefighter from 1975-2015 with New Rockford Fire Department. He has served as fire chief and training coordinator.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is conferred upon outstanding individuals whose contributions to and leadership of the fire service within North Dakota have been a milestone in the development of those services; whose actions have served not just their community, but have contributed significantly to the fire service on a regional, statewide or national basis; and, whose leadership and accomplishments in these areas are widely recognized and respected in the North Dakota fire service, according to N.D. Firefighter’s Museum information.

The museum invites the public to the Hall of Fame Induction and banquet in Garrison on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Garrison Fire Department. The festivities will commence with an open house at the N.D. Firefighter’s Museum at 4:30 p.m., a Fallen Firefighter’s Remembrance ceremony at 5 p.m., followed by a social, and the banquet at 6 p.m., with induction ceremony to follow.
