Submitted Photo The Pioneer Village Car and Tractor Show the weekend of Aug. 2-3 displayed its 1965 Gleaner Model “E” combine alongside Butler Ag of Minot’s new S98 Gleaner combine. The crowd affectionately called the new Gleaner “mama” and the 1965 Gleaner “baby.” The 6,905-pound “E” Gleaner featured a four-cylinder, 50-horsepower gas engine while the 32,920-pound S98 has a seven-cylinder, 430-horsepower diesel engine. The “E” Gleaner had a 40-bushel grain tank compared to 390 bushels on the S98. It was one of many unique displays and activities from the weekend. Photos by Delwyn Groninger,
