South Broadway criminal mischief leads to felony arrest

The Minot Police Department made an arrest following a criminal mischief incident that occurred late on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 7.

Police reported that at about 11:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a male individual throwing rocks at businesses in the 3300 block of South Broadway. The reporting party remained on the line with Minot Central Dispatch and provided real-time updates on the suspect’s whereabouts.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect in the vicinity. After a brief foot pursuit, the individual was apprehended without incident.

Police identified the suspect as Dylan Jacob Neuens, 26, of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Neuens was arrested for refusal to halt, a B misdemeanor, and criminal mischief-intentional damage of $2,000-$10,000, a Class C felony.

Initial assessments revealed one business sustained minor damage, while another had significant damage to 10 windows, according to Minot Police. As surrounding businesses opened the following morning, additional damage consistent with the original report was discovered. Surveillance footage is being reviewed, and further charges may be filed depending on the extent of damage and available evidence.
