ND residents sought for ALS research

The ALS Therapy Development Institute invites North Dakotans living with ALS and asymptomatic carriers of ALS-related genetic mutations to join the ALS Research Collaborative (ARC) Study.

The ARC Study is the most comprehensive and longest-running natural history study of ALS (Lou Gehring’s Disease). Since its inception in 2014, the study has enrolled more than 1,800 people worldwide and includes participants from 49 U.S. states and more than 50 countries.

The study requires data from geographically diverse areas to build the most comprehensive database possible, but North Dakota is underrepresented. Participation involves activities such as surveys, voice recordings, movement tracking and blood samples donations, which can be conveniently completed at home.

All data is de-identified and secure. You choose what to share and you can end participation at any time. Participants receive access to a secure online portal to view and track their data.
