ND airports continue record-setting boardings

BISMARCK – North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports set a new high in passenger boardings for the month of July, according to the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.

The commission recently released its monthly report, showing 122,238 passenger boardings in July at the commercial airports. This total surpasses the previous record of 112,141 set in 2024 by 9% , or an additional 10,097 travelers.

All eight airports experienced growth compared to last July, contributing to the state’s 15th consecutive month of record-breaking passenger traffic. Minot boardings totaled 17,360, up 1,079 passengers or 6.6% from last year in July.

The sustained gains highlight both the strength and reliability of North Dakota’s commercial air service network, the aeronautics commission stated in a news release.

“Continued growth in passenger traffic highlights the important role that air service plays in supporting North Dakota’s economy,” said Kyle Wanner, executive director of the aeronautics commission, in the release. “These record numbers show that residents and visitors alike are choosing to fly, which strengthens our communities and expands opportunities across the state.”

New air service in North Dakota includes:

– Direct service to Denver from Jamestown and Devils Lake airports, with an increase in available seats.

– A third daily Delta Airlines flight to Minneapolis from Williston that began Aug. 1.

The Williston Basin International Airport in Williston set a new July record for boardings at 9,730, surpassing the previous record of 9,605, set in 2014.

Starting at $2.99/week.
