National Night Out brings together first responders, community in White Shield

WHITE SHIELD – White Shield community members enjoyed fun, food and beverages during the White Shield Public Safety Center National Night Out 2025 held Tuesday, Aug. 5.

There were armored vehicles, punt pass and kick, a bouncy castle, tug of war, K9 demonstrations and much more.

Many of the first responders brought their family members to join in the fun.

The National Night Out is an annual event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. This year, other first responders also were invited.

One of the more popular demonstrations was the 3,000-gallon portable pool that was deployed from a truck and filled in less than 3 minutes.

“It’s going to be a game-changer,” Katlin Two Crows, Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement Services assistant, said of the portable pool.

“Last year was a hard one,” Two Crows said, expressing how hard it was to view pictures of livestock and wild animals that died in fires. “One man in the northern area died trying to get his animals out of his barn.
