Minot’s Task Force 21 to hold symposium in Washington, DC
Members of Minot’s Task Force 21 will be going to Washington, D.C., this fall for the 14th Annual Task Force 21 Nuclear Triad Symposium.
Set for Friday, Sept. 26, the event will host senior defense leaders, policymakers and national security experts to discuss the state and future of America’s nuclear triad and the role Minot Air Force Base plays in global defense.
Among this year’s distinguished speakers is Gen. Thomas Bussiere, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command and commander of Air Forces Strategic – Air, U.S. Strategic Command at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.
Additional invited speakers include Secretary of the Air Force Troy Meink and Lt. Gen. Andrew Gebara, deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, U.S. Air Force, along with members of North Dakota’s congressional delegation.
“Minot has a unique role in sustaining the strength of our nuclear deterrent,” said Brekka Kramer, president and CEO of the Minot Area Chamber EDC. “This symposium provides a critical opportunity to elevate the voices of defense leaders and ensure that Minot remains at the center of America’s national security dialogue.”
“The conversations that take place here directly shape the future of our nation’s defense,” said Pete Hankla, chair of Task Force 21. “We are committed to providing a platform that strengthens the ties between our military, policymakers and communities.”
The symposium will be held at the Army and Navy Club. The event is free to attend, but advance registration is required, as space is limited.
Task Force 21 is an activity of the Minot Area Chamber EDC that educates the local community, N.D. officials, members of Congress and the public on national security issues, particularly ones that affect Minot AFB, the U.S. Air Force and the nuclear deterrent.
