A 21-year-old Minot man died in a crash on the U.S. Highway 83 West Bypass Aug. 2.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 3 a.m., a 2021 Tesla Model Y was traveling northbound on the bypass near the Fourth Avenue Northwest overpass in Minot. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and crashed.

The driver was wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries. The driver’s name has not been released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
