Governor directs flags flown at half-staff
BISMARCK – Gov. Kelly Armstrong has directed all U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff from until sunset Sunday, Aug. 31, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, as a mark of respect for the victims of the Wednesday, Aug. 27, shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.
“Kjersti and I are heartbroken for our neighbors in Minnesota and praying for the victims of the unspeakable act of violence at Annunciation Catholic School and their families,” Armstrong said in issuing the directive. “We are grateful for the first responders and medical professionals caring for the victims.”
The flag directive is in accordance with a proclamation issued by President Donald Trump.
