Fort Stevenson to host Lantern Hike
GARRISON – Fort Stevenson State Park will host a Lantern Hike as the fifth of six hikes planned in its Evening Hike Series.
The Lantern Hike will take place Saturday, Aug. 30, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. and will feature paper lanterns as visitors enjoy a two-mile ranger-guided hike that will start from the park visitor center trailhead and continue along the perimeter trail.
Hikers are welcome to bring their own lanterns or stop at the visitor center and park staff will provide lanterns to use. Please note all luminary type lanterns should have battery or solar luminaries.
The park charges a $7 vehicle entrance fee unless a current North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department annual pass is displayed. Fort Stevenson State Park is located three miles south of Garrison.
