Citizens Alley to celebrate mural artists

Coming alive with color and creativity, Citizens Alley will host a Meet the Artists event on Thursday, Aug. 28, to celebrate the four muralists who have transformed the alley into a destination for art and conversation.
From 5:30-7:30 p.m., attendees will have the chance to connect with muralists Arvin Davis, Jr., Cera Pignet, Tessia Samuelson and Max Patzner at the downtown plaza. They are the artists behind the two large-scale painted murals and the two digital mural wraps featured on Citizen Alley’s equipment trailers. Each artist will be set up near their works and may offer additional artwork for sale.
The evening will feature live jazz music by Erik Anderson, and concessions available from Yodabest, the Alley’s dedicated food truck.
“Citizens Alley was built for moments like this — an evening under the lights with art, music and neighbors,” said Jessica Ackerman, executive director of Local Motives, in a news release. “Public art has the power to spark conversations and bring people together, and Meet the Artists is about connecting those stories with our community.”
This project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
