Arrest made Minot terrorizing incident

A Minot man has been arrested in connection with a terrorizing incident involving a firearm in southeast Minot, according to the Minot Police Department.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, at about 1:06 p.m., Minot Police responded to a report of a male who rode his bicycle past a 17-year-old and pointed a small caliber handgun at the juvenile.

The suspect, identified as Darnell Burton, 39, of Minot, hid the firearm prior to officers arriving on scene. K9 units were deployed to assist in locating the weapon.

Burton was arrested without further incident and transported to the Ward County Jail, police reported. He has been charged with terrorizing, unlawful possession of a firearm-felon and tampering with physical evidence, all Class C felonies.

The incident remains under investigation.
