Arrest made in shooting death
The Minot Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man found in a northeast Minot parking lot on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
According to MPD information, the deceased male was identified as Dorian Thomas-Harris, 19, Minot, who was found with an apparent gunshot wound. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident determined Jonathan Decoteau, 19, Minot, allegedly shot and killed Thomas. Decoteau was taken into custody without incident on Friday, Aug. 15.
Decoteau has been charged with manslaughter, a Class B felony; tampering with physical evidence, a Class C felony; and falsifying information to law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
