Minot firefighters quickly extinguished an apartment fire in northwest Minot on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

According to Minot Fire Department information, an engine was dispatched at 8:34 p.m. to the 1400 block of Eighth Street Northwest for reports of fire and smoke inside an apartment building.

Engine 3 arrived on scene in just over 4 minutes and found smoke coming from both inside and outside the building. The fire was quickly located and extinguished, and crews provided ventilation and overhaul of the affected area.

Two residents and two pets were displaced for the night, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and found trapped inside a wall.
