Alzheimer’s Association to offer presentations
“The Empowered Caregiver: Supporting Independence” will be offered from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. This class is designed to increase caregiver confidence while reducing stress. It will offer helpful ways to approach the responsibilities of caring for someone living with dementia using a person-centered approach. “Supporting Independence” focuses on helping the person living with dementia participate in daily activities, providing the right amount of support, and balancing safety and independence while managing expectations.
“Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” will take place from noon-1 p.m.
Learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, stages, risk factors, current research and treatments available for some symptoms, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.
Registration is required by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter. This project is funded through the North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services, Adult and Aging Services Section.
