Zoo to host International Tiger Day celebration

Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot is inviting the public to celebrate International Tiger Day on Tuesday, with a full day of tiger-themed activities, learning opportunities and family fun.

From crafts to keeper chats and a special name reveal, the event is designed to engage guests of all ages while raising awareness for tiger conservation.

Guests can take part in a variety of interactive activities throughout the zoo, including a scavenger hunt, educational enrichment tables and a bounce house near the aviary. Children who complete the scavenger hunt will take home a tiger-themed prize.

The schedule includes:

– 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Craft table

– 11:30 a.m. – Keeper training

– 1 p.m.: Tiger cub name announcement

– 1:30 p.m.: Zoya’s book reading

– 2:30 p.m.: Keeper chat

In addition, the zoo will be collecting “baby shower” gifts for the tiger cubs at the enrichment table. Guests are encouraged to bring canned tuna, canned cat foot, whipped cream and large paper bags (leaf bags).

“International Tiger Day is a fun and meaningful way for our community to connect with these incredible animals,” Chelsea Mihalick, zoo curator, said. “From enrichment to education, everything we do during this event supports the well-being of our tigers and helps people learn more about their care.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
