Proposed city budget goes to council tonight
A $211 million proposed budget to be presented to the Minot City Council tonight reflects a 6.4% decline in overall spending, although the general fund portion of the 2026 spending plan is up 8%.
City Manager Harold Stewart will present the preliminary budget at the council meeting that begins at 5:30 p.m. in Minot City Hall. The council has until Aug. 10 to approve a preliminary budget, which will be subject to a public hearing at a date to be set.
The proposed budget calls for $69.2 million in general fund spending, and $29.57 million in tax levy, up from $24 million in 2025.
