ND Highway identifies drivers from weekend crashes

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released identifications for the individuals involved in crashes this past weekend.

The driver involved in a fatal single vehicle crash in the early morning on Saturday on U.S. Highway 2 has been identified as Michael Zepeda, 51, Minot.

According to the Highway Patrol, Zepeda’s 2002 Chevrolet Silverado failed to negotiate a curve in the road, entered the ditch and overturned. Zepeda died at the scene.

The Highway Patrol also identified the individuals involved in an incident on Friday afternoon when a Bowbells woman on a bicycle was injured after being struck by a Burke County deputy in a marked car on N.D. Highway 8, south of Bowbells.

The Highway Patrol has identified the deputy as Christopher Almlie, 34, Bowbells, and the bicyclist as Mary Pandolfo, 65. Pandolfo was seriously injured in the crash and transported to a Minot hospital. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
