Lane to close on Third Street bridge
The City of Minot has announced it will close the northbound lane of the Third Street Northeast bridge today between 9 a.m. and noon. An inspection by the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s yearly bridge inspection discovered a critical finding.
“Out of an abundance of caution, the northbound lane of the bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic,” City Engineer Lance Meyer said. “Bids were opened for this bridge repair project today, so the timeline for completing repairs and reopening the bridge is unknown at this point. We will work with the contractor to expedite the schedule as much as possible.”
As part of the bid process, the bid acceptance and the project’s proposed timeline will be brought to the Minot City Council for approval or denial at the July 21 meeting.
The southbound lane of the bridge will remain open at this time.
