Driver charged after hit-and-run on Friday
A Minnesota man has been arrested and charged after leaving the scene of a serious crash in Minot on Friday.
According to the Minot Police Department, officers responded at 7:32 p.m. to a crash at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and North Broadway involving a pickup and a motorcycle.
The driver of the pickup, Travis V. Brown, 32, Minnesota, made a sudden lane change while heading southbound and struck the motorcycle, causing the rider to fall and be run over by the truck’s rear tire. Brown then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
The motorcyclist was transported to a Minot hospital’s emergency room with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition. A witness safely followed the pickup and provided updates until officers were able to stop it.
Brown was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury, a Class C felony, and transported to the Ward County Jail.
