Submitted Map

Minot drivers can expect changes to traffic patterns in the coming weeks as part of the ongoing 16th Street Reconstruction Project, according to the City of Minot.

The intersection of 16th Street and Burdick Expressway is scheduled to reopen Friday to all lanes of traffic. Sixteenth Street will remain closed immediately south of Burdick Expressway until October, allowing crews to continue making long-term improvements.

Starting Monday, July 14, the 11th Avenue Southwest and 16th Street intersection will close for about five weeks, until mid-August, as crews complete work in this intersection.

The temporary connection between 14th Avenue Southwest/Cook Drive and 18th Street will remain in place throughout this period, providing access for neighborhood traffic west of 16th Street and south of 14th Avenue. Residents and businesses located to the east of 16th Street can continue to access their properties via nearby side streets.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time and use alternative routes whenever possible. The public also is urged to slow down and exercise caution when traveling near construction zones for the safety of both themselves and the crews.

The 16th Street Reconstruction Project will deliver long-term improvements in traffic flow, safety and drainage throughout the area.

Starting at $2.99/week.
