Sexual assault of juvenile investigation leads to arrest

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following an investigation into a reported sexual assault.

According to Minot Police, the assault was reported on April 6 to Minot Police by a juvenile victim who had communicated with the suspect, Caleb Valles, 21, on a social networking app. Valles picked up the victim and took the victim to his residence where the assault occurred, according to the victim.

According to Minot Police, the investigation and search warrants uncovered two additional potential victims. All three victims were interviewed by investigators and their testimonies corroborated the digital evidence obtained through search warrants.

Valles was arrested on Thursday and transported to the Ward County Jail. Valles has been charged with one count of gross sexual imposition, a Class A felony; luring minors by computers or other electronic means, a Class C felony; two counts of luring minors by computers or other electronic means, corruption of a minor, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, all Class A misdemeanors.

The investigation was assisted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Office of Special Investigations at Minot Air Force Base.
