Public input sought on ND sustainability draft

A series of 24 community input meetings across North Dakota, along with dozens of stakeholder meetings, has yielded a draft set of statewide sustainability strategies. The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has announced public meetings in July on the draft results of the GHG Reduction Framework before North Dakota’s first-ever sustainability plan is published.

North Dakota’s GHG Reduction Framework features:

– Data on statewide greenhouse gas emissions – if we do nothing vs. if we take action.

– Practical opportunities to reduce emissions by 2030 and 2050.

– Intended benefits for communities throughout the state.

The NDDEQ invites residents to discuss the GHG Reduction Framework and provide feedback on how it might intersect with opportunities in their community, businesses or organizations.

Two meetings will be held online through Zoom. The public can register for either of the meetings at www.deq.nd.gov/sustainability. Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, from 7-8 p.m. and Thursday, July 10, from 4-5 p.m.

If unable to attend,, the draft framework will be posted and feedback accepted from mid-June through July 25 at www.deq.nd.gov/sustainability.

Starting at $2.99/week.
