The vote total from the June 3 special election on a Minot Park District sales tax measure did not change with canvassing on Monday.

The official tally showed 979 votes against and 954 for the measure, which would have imposed a half percent sales tax and lowered the general fund levy cap. The canvassing board rejected one absentee ballot postmarked after the election and did not count a ballot set aside because proper identification wasn’t provided.
