Minot to celebrate July Fourth with events

The annual Fourth of July parade will begin activities in Minot at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The parade, now in its third year, is hosted by the Minot Fireworks Association, Minot Masonic Center and Minot Park District.

The parade route will be from the corner of 25th Street and Fourth Avenue Northwest, east on Fourth Avenue Northwest and ending at the corner of Third Avenue and Sixth Street Northwest, according to Shaun Lewellyn, current past president of Minot Shrine Club Nobles.

The annual Fourth of July Festival, presented by Minot Parks, will be held in Oak Park from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday. There will be live music and food vendors. There is no charge to attend.

Other activities being held in the city that day include a Hot Tots baseball game at Corbett Field at 4:05 p.m., races at Nodak Speedway at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks at the fairgrounds.
