MINOT AIR FORCE BASE – Minot Air Force Base’s open house scheduled for Saturday was canceled “due to current global events and out of an abundance of caution and safety,” according to an announcement released by the base Saturday morning.

The announcement went on to say:

“While there is no specific threat to Minot Air Force Base or the local area, due to force protection considerations it is necessary to cancel today’s event.

“We thank the public for your support and understanding. We look forward to hosting an even bigger and better event in the future.”

The event would have been the first open house held at the base since 2018.
