Trinity Health Foundation’s 27th Annual Building Hope Women’s Golf Tournament and 3rd Annual Chopper Drop on June 9 raised $35,738, which will go toward the purchase of a state-of-the-art 3D mammogram system with biopsy capabilities.

Acquiring this crucial system will represent a significant advancement for breast care throughout the region, according to foundation information.

“This event is a significant milestone in our region’s fight against breast cancer,” said Darla Miller, foundation manager.

The annual Chopper Drop had a first this year. The Chopper Drop entails dropping a bucket of golf balls from a helicopter flying over the golf course, and the ball that lands closest to the pin wins a cash prize. This year, the winning ball was a hole-in-one.

Thirty-six teams participated in the tournament held at Souris Valley Golf Course, according to foundation information. Holly Johnson, Danielle Foster, Jade Teske and Lauryn Keller finished in first place.

This year’s tournament theme was “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” Teams arrived in festive attire and their golf carts also were decorated.

Starting at $2.99/week.
