A fire at a Minot hotel Monday afternoon resulted in an evacuation but was quickly extinguished, according to information from the Minot Fire Department.

Crews were dispatched about 3:22 p.m. to the Baymont Hotel in southwest Minot for reports of a fire located in a storage room.

According to Minot Fire Department information, crews arrived and found the building’s sprinkler system had successfully extinguished the fire. Firefighters conducted a thorough search, and verified all occupants had safely exited the building.

Due to the fire and resulting conditions from residual smoke, all guests were informed that they would not be able to remain at the hotel until necessary repairs were completed and a building inspection had been conducted to restore occupancy. Crews initiated ventilation efforts and assisted occupants in retrieving personal belongings before leaving the scene.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
