Traffic will be impacted in southwest Minot starting Tuesday, May 27, when construction begins on the 16th Street Reconstruction Project. Portions of 16th Street and Burdick Expressway will be closed to allow crews to begin pavement removal, storm sewer work and paving, according to the City of Minot.

A temporary connection will be installed between Cook Drive and 18th Street to serve as neighborhood-only access during construction for residents in the neighborhoods west of 16th Street and south of 14th Avenue SW. This temporary connection will be removed when the project is complete. Access to businesses and neighborhoods east of 16th Street will be from nearby side streets.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time and take alternate routes when possible.
