Police investigate train-pedestrian incident in downtown Minot

The Minot Police Department is investigating a train-pedestrian incident occurring early Sunday morning.

According to Minot Police information, officers responded to a report at 1:43 a.m. of a pedestrian who was struck by a train in the area of the 400 block of First Avenue Southwest.

Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel located a 21-year-old male who was unresponsive and suffering from life-threatening injuries. First responders immediately rendered lifesaving aid, and the individual was transported to a Minot hospital for emergency trauma care.

As of Sunday evening, the male remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition, according to Minot Police information.

Police are investigating the incident in collaboration with BNSF Railway. No further details were currently available.
