Mother’s Day: A Mother and Her Son

I think about my mother

more and more every day.

It’s been many years ago

since she passed away.

My mom was always working

when you walked inside our door.

Cooking, baking, quilting,

or just scrubbing of the kitchen floor.

There were no politics in our house,

no divisiveness at all.

Sure wish I could pick up the phone,

and give my mom a call.

Mother led me to Jesus

when I was just a kid.

I believe it was the most

important thing she ever did.

She’s up in heaven now,

knowing that her job is almost done.

Smiling and waiting so patiently,

for the arrival of her son.
