Minot Public Library receives literacy grant
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF) has announced an award of $2,000 to Minot Public Library.
The grant is part of more than $20,000 in literacy grants to North Dakota nonprofit organizations, libraries and schools within a 15-mile radius of a Dollar General store or distribution center, according to information from the foundation The funds are a part of a record-setting, one-day donation in the foundation’s history of more than $13.2 million to support adult, family, and summer literacy programs in the 48 states in which Dollar General operates.
The grants awarded to North Dakota organizations are expected to positively impact the lives of nearly 4,500 individuals.
Other North Dakota recipients were The Innovation School, Bismarck, $2,500; North Valley Area Career & Technical Center, Grafton, $10,000; Hazen Public Library/City of Hazen, $3,000; and Morton Mandan Public Library, $3,000.
