Minot man arrested for terrorizing incident

On Wednesday about 1:35 p.m., Minot Police officers were dispatched to a southwest Minot restaurant following reports of a male with a gun.

According to City of Minot information, the reporting party, an employee of the restaurant, stated the male had pulled out a firearm and showed it to staff.

Upon arrival, officers found employees who had evacuated the building waiting in the parking lot. Officers entered the restaurant to make contact with the suspect, Justyn M. Smith, 34, of Minot, and discovered he was in possession of a realistic replica BB gun.

Further investigation determined that Smith had made threatening comments while displaying the replica firearm.

Smith is charged with four counts of terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony. He was transported to the Ward County Jail.
