Minot insurance agent inducted into Hall of Fame
American Family Insurance (AFI) has announced the induction of Michael Lucy, of Minot, into the Dakotas Hall of Fame for North Dakota and South Dakota, according to AFI information.
The honor recognizes Lucy’s dedication and commitment to both his professional and personal life and the mark it has left on the insurance industry and his community.
Lucy’s journey with American Family Insurance began in April 1992, following his introduction to the company by then hiring manager, Jim Klassen. Lucy’s career has been distinguished by numerous life insurance qualifications and achieving All-American status multiple times. Being a mentor to many, he has lived and embodied the “Givers Get,” mentality, giving selflessly to others without expecting anything in return. He has brought his family into the business, encouraging them to grow and learn alongside him.
Lucy grew up in a small rural community and still has deeply connected ties there. Until just recently, Lucy had a secondary office located in Stanley.
Before joining American Family, Lucy graduated from Minot State University with a business degree. His deep connection to his community is evident through his involvement and giving tendencies to various organizations. He also serves as the president of Give 360, a community giving circle within the Minot Area Community Foundation.
Lucy and his wife, Nancy, are parents to four daughters — Samantha, Ashley, Haddie and Jocelyn — and grandparents to five grandchildren. His roles as a basketball coach and supportive figure in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities highlight his commitment to family values.
The induction ceremony took place on April 24. Luc was surprised with the honor as well as surprised by his family all being there to support him.
