Library’s new shelves installed
Ward County Public Library has replaced the shelving in its location in the administration building in Minot and recently reopened its doors to the public, Library Director Kerrianne Boetcher told the Ward County Commission Tuesday.
The Glenn Perkins Foundation, Williston, awarded a $131,491 grant for new shelves for both the library’s Minot and Kenmare branches. The new shelves were made by Rough Rider Industries, Bismarck. The library was closed temporarily for installation. The stocking of books onto the shelves has been continuing this week.
The Kenmare library will get its new shelves, along with new paint and carpeting, in July, Boetcher said.
The library has been in discussions with different organizations to see if there is interest in repurposing the former shelves.
