Flood project to result in bridge closure

As a part of MI-6 Downtown phase of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project there will be a closure to the Seventh Street Northeast bridge starting Monday, June 2, according to the Souris River Joint Board and City of Minot.

The bridge will be closed to all traffic to allow for utility relocations and construction of new flood control structures and levees. The total closure will continue through the 2026 construction season, with a temporary crossing created during the winter of 2025-26 when construction is suspended for the season. The bridge will be closed again during the 2026 construction season until the MI-6 Downtown project is complete. Notifications of changes will be shared with the public as construction continues.

In addition, Central Avenue, east of Sixth Street Northeast, will remain open to local residents only. Access to Roosevelt Park will continue from Eighth Street Southeast as it currently does, and Central Avenue businesses will remain open.

Starting at $2.99/week.
