Bottineau man sentenced three years for meth delivery
A Bottineau man has been sentenced to serve a concurrent sentence of three years after pleading guilty to multiple narcotics-related charges.
Ryan Ekstrom, 54, Bottineau, entered a change of plea in two cases in North Central District Court on Friday. Ekstrom pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of controlled substance-methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture/deliver-methamphetamine, both Class B felonies; and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-use-SI, SII, SIII-second offense, a Class C felony.
According to court documents, Ekstrom was charged on Dec. 4, 2024, after a confidential informant working with the Ward County Narcotics Task Force purchased approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine on Oct. 21, 2024.
Judge Todd Cresap sentenced Ekstrom to serve 10 years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for the delivery charge, to first serve three years and credit for five days already served. Cresap handed down concurrent sentences of three years for the possession and paraphernalia charges, and ordered Ekstrom to complete three years of supervised probation upon release.
Ekstrom was also assessed $1,550 in court fines and fees.
