Residents rally to protest federal decisions
About 100 people turned out in Minot Saturday to protest decisions being made in Washington on the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
“We are protesting the president ignoring the Supreme Court, dismantling important government agencies and services, firing hardworking civil servants, installing unqualified and inept political appointees and DOGE employees, turning its back on Ukraine, and bullying immigrants and queer people. And that’s just a start,” said participant Denise Dykeman of Minot.
“We’re out here because we want a government that cares,” Trygve Hammer of MInot said. “We want a government that follows due process, no matter who is involved in that process or what they believe about that person.
It was the third protest rally in Minot. A Light for Our Democracy event was held March 4 outside Minot City Hall. A Hands Off rally was held downtown April 5.
