Driver Sober enforcement results in 134 arrests
BISMARCK – The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign resulted in 134 alcohol or drug-related arrests and citations in the month of March.
Law enforcement agencies across the state participated in the campaign to deter motorists from driving impaired. According to a release from the North Dakota Department of Transportation, of the 134 alcohol or drug-related citations issued, there were 62 driving under the influence arrests; 13 arrests or citations for minor in consumption, minor in possession and minor zero tolerance, 16 open containers; and 18 drug-related arrests.
According to the release, alcohol was a factor in about 31% of motor vehicle fatalities in North Dakota in 2023.
