Local waiter receives Eagle Award

Joshua Garozzo

Joshua Garozzo, a Minot waiter, recently received the Minot Area Chamber EDC’s Eagle Award for excellent customer service.

The nomination for Garozzo from a Schatz Crossroads customer stated, “He makes a point to show concern to customers and others. When he asks “how are you?” he really wants to know how your day is and he attempts to make the visit a good experience.”

Garozzo also was commended on his consistency in displaying a kind and helpful attitude to customers as well as members of the staff.

“My big thing is I just want to make sure all my customers are smiling, and you can’t make everyone smile but you can still try,” Garozzo said.

Garozzo also works with his mom and his fiancee at the restaurant. Garozzo works the evening shift and his fiancee works the day shift with his mom. Garozzo also met his fiancee while working at Schatz’s.

“I was working and she came in for an interview, so she was just standing there waiting and I thought, ‘I gotta say something to her.’ She looked absolutely stunning,” Garozzo said.

Regarding his job, Garozzo said, “I love the interaction. I love the customers. I just enjoy talking to people and making them smile.”

The Eagle Award honors community members who provide excellent customer service. To be nominated, the individual must not work in the same establishment as the person submitting the nomination. Only individuals can be nominated, not businesses, and the nominee must have been seen doing a specific action that displayed customer service.

Starting at $2.99/week.
