Sanford to host Doc Talk on heart health
BISMARCK – Experts from the Sanford Bismarck region will host a free Doc Talk on understanding heart function and circulation on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
According to a Sanford news release, the event at Bismarck State College National Energy Center of Excellence, 1200 Schaffer St., will include free blood pressure testing and light appetizers at 4 p.m., with the presentation at 5 p.m. The presentation also will be available virtually through Webex. Dr. Nayan Desai., interventional cardiologist, will speak on how the heart and circulation work together and what happens when this vital system faces challenges. Desai will cover the signs, causes and latest treatments for heart conditions, along with tips to keep the heart and circulation strong. Attendees will leave with practical tips and valuable insights for themselves or when caring for a loved one.
Topics to be covered are heart failure, amyloid and hypertrophic heart disease; coronary artery disease – blockages; atrial fibrillation and blood thinners; heart valve disease; and peripheral circulation disease and varicose veins.
