Traffic stop results in narcotics arrest
STANLEY — A Minot man has been arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop and K9 search of his vehicle by the Stanley Police Department on Nov. 9.
According to information released by the Stanley Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, near milepost 93 on Highway 2 near Stanley for minor traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Joshual Lee, 50, Minot, reportedly had a suspended driver’s license and a history of drug related charges. Lee refused the officer’s request to search the vehicle for narcotics and was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, according to the police department release.
The officer deployed his K-9 Partner, Phantom, who alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located a syringe loaded with a clear liquid and other drug paraphernalia. A field test of the liquid tested positive for methamphetamine.
Lee was booked in the Mountrail County Jail for driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
