Eagle Award winner recognized for helping parents

Amy Senger

Amy Senger, an administrative assistant at Minot Public Schools, is among 11 recipients of the Minot Area Chamber EDC’s September Eagle Awards.

Senger was nominated by a parent whom she assisted with the tuition waiver process. After first connecting with the parent in 2023, Senger followed up the next year and helped guide the parent through the process.

The nominator said Senger went “above and beyond” to help them keep up with the paperwork and answer any questions.

“Because of her dedication, time, and assistance I feel confident that both my kiddo and I are prepared for this school year and can successfully tackle any upcoming challenges knowing that if I absolutely have a question, Amy would be available,” the nominator said in a statement shared by the Minot Area Chamber EDC.

Senger moved to Minot in the fall of 2005, working from home as a medical transcriptionist while she raised her daughters. She began working at Minot Public Schools in the fall of 2011 as a paraprofessional at Longfellow Elementary. In January 2014, Senger transitioned to a dual role, serving as a paraprofessional and as a part-time secretary at Longfellow. She became a full-time secretary at Perkett Elementary in 2016, where she worked until she took on the role of administrative assistant to the MPS superintendent and activities director.

Senger said her work at the Administration Building involves providing support to the superintendent and activities director by handling a number of tasks, from fielding calls, managing calendars and preparing materials for board meetings. She also maintains records related to school activities and helps parents troubleshoot registration issues.

“I love that every day is different. I am very fortunate to get to work with great people. I feel honored to have been nominated for the Eagle Award alongside the other recipients,” Senger said.
